“Biodiversity: Living in harmony with nature”

We are delighted to announce our latest ECoS initiative, the Edinburgh Conservation Film Festival.

The Edinburgh Conservation Film Festival has been set up to highlight the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) CoP15 event which will focus on actions to promote the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and the fair sharing of benefits arising from it.

The Edinburgh Conservation Film Festival aims to seek public engagement to CoP15 through the submission of short films that communicate the importance of conserving and maintaining biodiversity under the theme of “Biodiversity: Living in harmony with nature” as stated by the Global Biodiversity Framework’s vision for 2050.

The festival welcomes entries from amateurs and established filmmakers at any stage of their careers under four categories:

  • Why nature matters
  • Fixing nature and climate
  • Connecting people and nature
  • Innovation and tools for biodiversity

For detailed information about the festival and submission of films, please visit the dedicated FilmFreeway website. The deadline for submission of films is 1st February 2022.

For any enquiries about the Edinburgh Conservation Film Festival please email us at ecos.contact@ecos.ac.uk.
