Who we are
We are Edinburgh Conservation Science (ECOS), which is a consortium of world-class research organisations dedicated to the translation and application of science to conservation. We provide an interface between the scientific and conservation communities, maximising the impact of fundamental research and supporting access for wildlife and environmental managers to a range of scientific and medical technologies and expertise.
We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site. In particular, we want you to know that ECOS is not in the business of selling, renting or personal data with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.
This Privacy Policy provides information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it and how we keep it secure.
We will never disclose your personal data with others.

Analytics
When someone visits www.ecos.ac.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Data sent via our contact form
The contact form on this web site has been created to provide you with a convenient means of sending us an email, without having to log in to your own mail client. Your details are not stored on this web site, they are not shared, they are held confidence, just as an email message email message would be in the recipient’s mail box. If you prefer not to use the form and contact us by another means, these will be listed on the contact page.
